One-to-Subagent Turn Delegation over A2A
Public concept page defining the One-parent to sub-agent delegation pattern over an in-process, transport-agnostic A2A contract.
TL;DR: One can hand a specialized turn to a registered specialist through an owner-scoped, consent-checked task contract. The current Location path dispatches in process; it is not an official cross-process A2A Tasks exchange. Official A2A transport is the intended boundary when delegation crosses a process or deployment, subject to its compatibility and authority gates.
Status as of 2026-09-23: source-verified architectural boundary. Deployment behavior was not checked here.
Relations
- One β parent private agent.
- PCHP β consent and export authority.
- One ADK β orchestrated specialist contract.
Current Location turn
One frames the person's intent and dispatches a bounded task to the registered Location specialist inside the current runtime. The dispatch seam binds the owner and invocation authority. The specialist can return a structured directive for the client; a client action still needs its own authorized confirmation and device context. A specialist result does not itself authorize sharing a location or grant broad access to personal information.
The task and result types are called A2A in the codebase because they define the specialist handoff. That name should not be read as proof of network transport, a signed standard A2A Task envelope, or full A2A v1 compatibility. The current One endpoint is explicitly described in repository docs as an invocation preview rather than official A2A v1 Tasks.
Cross-process direction
For a specialist on another process or deployment, the design calls for official A2A Tasks after the pinned runtime passes its compatibility gate. Each hop still needs owner-scoped invocation authority and any information access needs a separately scoped consented export. The parent remains responsible for the user-facing result; transport does not create permission.
